Prescription Renewals

Prescription Renewals

To renew a current or existing prescription written by your Bridgepoint physician, please book an appointment before you run out of medication. Your provider will have given you enough medication until the next time you are expected to be seen.

Prescription renewals without a visit are not covered by OHIP. You may also call your pharmacy to have them send a prescription renewal request by fax. The clinic’s fax number can be found on our contact page. Please note that it can take 5 business days to respond to a faxed prescription renewal request.

For patient’s of Dr. Arielle Cheifetz or Dr. Aaron Sacheli: your faxed prescription renewal request may be covered by the block fee. To avoid being charged the prescription renewal fee please book an appointment.

For patient's of Dr. Karen Chu - she will have given you enough refills until she expects to see you in the office again to review your condition. If you require a refill, please book an appointment

Tips to help you manage your medication:

  • Make an appointment before your medication is finished.

  • Make sure you have enough medication to last you until your next visit. Patients should call 2 weeks before their prescription is due to expire, to provide as much notice as possible.

  • Write down the exact date of your last refill on the calendar or check with your pharmacist to see if you have refills available.

  • Bring ALL your medication to each appointment in order to ensure all prescriptions are reviewed and re-ordered if necessary.

  • Prescriptions may take 4-5 days for our office to process, so please do not follow up if your pharmacy only sent the request a few days ago.
